Reading is one of the most important areas of the Japanese language. That is why our selection of books includes readings of every level, aimed at students of Japanese, as well as reading books for native Japanese speakers published by various publishers such as Gakken, Shinchosha, Kadokawa, Gentosha, Bunshun, Shueisha or Kodansha, among many others.
Literature in Japanese
A selection of literature books in Japanese, with works by classic authors such as Natsume Sōseki, Yasunari Kawabata or Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, novels by contemporary writers such as Haruki Murakami, Yū Nagira, Yōko Ogawa or Hiromi Kawakami, and works of world literature translated into Japanese by authors such as J.K. Rowling, Agatha Christie, J.R.R. Tolkien or Roald Dahl.
Graded readers
A selection of books with the vocabulary and the number of words calculated so that it is easy for students to select which one best fits their level. Graded readers are usually accompanied by audio for practicing listening comprehension.
Bilingual readings
Reading books written in English and Japanese on various themes: literature, travel, history, gastronomy or Japanese culture.
Stories in Japanese
A selection of stories for Japanese children that are also a suitable reading for beginner-level students. All the stories include drawings, are written almost entirely in hiragana and katakana, and the kanji include furigana.
