Second book with the Layouts and Key Frames of the movie Akira (アキラ) Directed by Katsuhiro Otomo and based on the manga written by the same author. This book is printed on two types of paper; on one of them appears a still with the characters of the film and on the other the background that was used for the scene. By superimposing these two types of paper, we can see what the final scene of the film looks like. All drawings include comments by Katsuhiro Otomo in the margins. Over time, Akira has become a true cult title. It is considered Katsuhiro Otomo's masterpiece and a true reference in the world of comics in general and manga in particular.

Akira places us in an apocalyptic future in which Tokyo has been devastated by a nuclear explosion of unknown origin. A new city called Neo-Tokyo has been built, but it is a place besieged by gangs and gangsters. While exploring the ruins of the old Tokyo, Kaneda and Tetsuo, the protagonists of this story, will see a strange boy who seems to have some connection to the explosion that devastated the city in the past.
