Otomo - The Complete Works 4 - Sayonara Nippon

Published by Futabasha in 1981 as the third compilation volume by Katsuhiro Otomo, this work, which also includes other instalments in the series, is the author's first “serialised series with the same protagonist”.
This compilation includes the work that gives the book its title (the five episodes) published by the author in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine between 1977 and 1978, when he was between 23 and 24 years old, along with eight short manga works published around the same time.
The short stories are: three from Highway Star (1979/Futabasha), four from GOOD WEATHER (1981/Kitan-sha), including the two stories that give the book its title, and one from Her Thoughts... (1990/Kodansha). This definitive edition faithfully reproduces the colour pages as they were originally published and includes commentary by the author himself.
