This work, ‘ILLUSTRATION 2026,’ is the latest edition of the successful ‘ILLUSTRATION’ series.

It features 150 established artists spanning the globally acclaimed Japanese illustration scene, from diverse pop culture to the ever-evolving world of internet culture.

All of the artists featured are new additions since the previous volume, ‘ILLUSTRATION 2025,’ and offer a glimpse into the cutting edge of contemporary illustration.

The cover of 2026 is decorated by PALOW., the popular illustrator responsible for numerous artworks for KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, including character design for the virtual singer KAFU.

The book's design is by promising designer Tomoyuki Arima, who is trusted by many artists.

The volume concludes with interviews with Chee Shinw, character designer for the smartphone RPG ‘Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space,’ and Hide Horiuchi, art director for ‘.MP,’ known for his extensive design work in anime and manga. It also includes a special dialogue between PALOW. and Tomoyuki Arima in which they discuss the process of creating the cover design for this book.

The ILLUSTRATION series upholds the motto ‘Human creativity is a shining jewel,’ respecting the unique history of each artist and the resulting “individuality” and ‘creativity’ as possessing unique value.

Character designer and illustrator from Fukuoka Prefecture. He is responsible for illustrations in various fields, such as video games, anime, books, music, and advertising. He recently produced the exhibition ‘Re＼arise.’ His representative works include the design of the virtual singers ‘Kafu’ and “Rima” and the design work for V.W.P. In addition to character design for SSS by applibot, he is also the creative director of ‘PHASE STUDIO.’
