Mastering Japanese by Ear N5/N4 is a book for pre-intermediate level students to practice listening comprehension in Japanese.

This book includes a total of 50 units, each with a specific situation in which a dialogue takes place. Once listened to, the student must try to answer the listening comprehension questions. At the beginning of each unit, there are brief grammar reviews that help to better understand the sense and meaning of the conversations. At the end of each unit are all the solutions to the exercises.

The second part of the book includes transcriptions of all the audios.

As this is a material for beginner-level students, all the kanji include the reading in furigana.

A CD is included with all the audios, which are also available for download on the publisher's website.
