Kamishibai - Okiku Okiku Okikuna Are

There is a little pig, tiny tiny. Let's all say together: Grow, grow, grow!

To the rhythm of our voices, turn the page... Oh, the little pig has grown big!

Now there is an egg.

Let's all say: Grow, grow, grow!

And then, wow, the egg has grown big too!

Eh? The egg has broken...

About Kamishibai

Kamishibai (紙芝居, “paper theatre”) is an ancient form of storytelling that is very popular in Japan.

It consists of a set of sheets, each with a picture on one side and text on the other.

The narrator reads the text relating to each of the illustrations while the audience looks at them and listens to the story.

It is an educational and entertaining technique aimed mainly at children.
