Contemporary Japanese History: since 1945 (Bilingual Edition) (日本現代史 改訂第3版 対訳ニッポン双書) is a Japanese-English bilingual guide to Japan's contemporary history since the end of World War II.

Written by James M. Vardaman, the book chronologically traces Japan's transformation since 1945: the Allied occupation, the drafting of the new Constitution, the reconstruction and "economic miracle", the political and social evolution of the postwar period, and the country's current debates, such as demographic aging and its technological challenges. This revised third edition is designed with the English text and its Japanese translation on facing pages, allowing the historical narrative itself to be used as a study tool for formal, political and historical vocabulary in both languages. It belongs to the Bilingual Nippon Sosho collection and has 286 pages.
