Hakoya Maruko Bento - 50820 Model - White cat

This Bento was made by Japanese brand Hakoya, a company specialized in the design and making of these famous lunch boxes. 

This model is Maruko, and shows a white cat. This model one in particular has two individual sections, a small fork in its inside and an elastic band to put outside and avoid that the Bento gets opened. 

The capacity of this bento is 520 ml. divided as follows: 

- Upper section: 220 ml.
- Lower section: 300ml.

Maruko Bento boxes cannot be introduced in the microwave and the dishwasher because its materials might be damaged. 

Hakoya, the bento culture

Hakoya is a Japanese company well known by its good and nice designs. The whole process is handcrafted, summarizing its philosophy with the motto: “express love through bento”.

In Japan, it is very common that the students and workers bring their own meal to school or work. Bento is part of the daily history of Japan.
