Let's Explore Hiragana & Katakana is a book for those students who are about to take their first steps in learning Japanese language. By using this book, students will learn the two basic Japanese syllabaries: hiragana and katakana, essential if you want to read and write in Japanese. 

The book has a small format and it almost fits into a pocket and it has been printed in color. Pages on the left side show a letter written in hiragana and pages of the right side show the same letter, but this time written in katakana. Each letter also contains three words written with these symbols so that the student gets familiar with them and learns new vocabulary at the same time.

The book includes a link (Also provided at the very beginning of this file) in which student will be able to download audio files that show how each sound should be pronounced.

The book has been written and designed by Bret Mayer, the first American person who passed the first level of the Kanji Kentei exam. He currently teaches kanji at the university of Ritsumeikan.
