Kanken 10-kyu Rakuraku Marutsuke Ichimaru to Honban Taisaku! A collection of past exams for Kanken (Japan's official kanji aptitude test), Level 10 — the most basic level, covering the kanji taught in the first year of Japanese elementary school. Aimed at schoolchildren and their families, its standout feature is "marking support" (marutsuke): it grew out of common parental doubts — does it count as wrong if a stroke isn't stopped properly? is it still correct if a line sticks out? — and helps adults grade answers just like the real exam. It includes 5 complete past papers selected from the 2023 and 2024 sittings, with near-actual-size question and answer sheets that detach from the book so children can practise exactly as on test day. The marking support provides: flags on questions with lower success rates; explanations of the most common wrong answers based on real examinee data; clear correct/incorrect criteria for each character's form; animations for the stroke orders most often confused; and a QR code on the test papers giving instant access to digital answer explanations.
