Nige Jozu no Wakagimi (The Elusive Samurai) Vol.2

Nige Jozu no Wakagimi (The Elusive Samurai) Vol.2 (逃げ上手の若君 2) is the second volume of Matsui Yūsei's historical manga about Hōjō Tokiyuki.

This volume follows the struggle against Ogasawara Sadamune, the governor of Shinano, who meddles in the Suwa lands. At the shrine's mounted-archery contest, Sadamune unknowingly competes against Tokiyuki himself and is defeated, then intensifies his pursuit using an imperial decree. Meanwhile, Tokiyuki meets the cunning ninja Kazama Genba and tries to bring him onto his side.

Recommended level: Intermediate (JLPT N3–N2). Every kanji carries furigana, though it includes proper nouns and historical vocabulary from the Kamakura period.
