Volume 3 of Shin Genji monogatari (新源氏物語). This translation and this edition have been made by the famous author Seiko Tanabe. The Tale of Genji is considered by many experts as one of the first novels in the history of literature. It was written at the beginning of the XI century by Murasaki Shikibu.
The Tale of Genji is the story of Hikaru Genji, the son of the Japanese emperor. For political reasons, the emperor removes Genji from the aristocratic society and he is forced to live as a commoner. This novel is a depiction of the Japanese Heian period because Genji lives between 2 societies, the aristocrats and the commoners.
