Genki Japanese Readers Box 1 - L1 / L6 (12 physical books + downloadable audio)

GENKI Japanese Readers Box 1 (L1-L6), in Japanese 初級日本語よみもの げんき多読ブックス [Box 1], is the first level of graded reading books that complement the Genki method published by The Japan Times.

This Box 1 consists of 12 reading books where the grammar and vocabulary used correspond to what was studied in lessons 1 to 6 of the Genki 1 method.

In addition to the books, the publisher offers the possibility to download the audio read aloud for free. The latter is quite valuable for students who can use the audio both for listening and repeating while reading the books (pronunciation practice and vocabulary and grammar acquisition), and for listening comprehension practice.

The books are in colour and furigana are included for all kanji.

Although the readings belong to the Genki method, they can also be used by students who study with other methods and want to use them as graded readings with audio.

- The grammar items and vocabulary of two GENKI Japanese Readers titles correspond to those of a single GENKI textbook lesson.
Example: GENKI Japanese Readers L5-1 (A Trip to Okinawa) and L5-2 (Animal Islands)
→These two titles use grammar studied in the first five lessons of the GENKI textbook. Also, at least 95% of the text of both titles is made up of vocabulary studied in those lessons.
- Every title is in full colour. Ample illustrations and photos aid the learner's understanding of the text.
