Tobira - Intermediate Japanese Vol 2

Tobira - Intermediate Japanese Vol. 2 (中級日本語 とびら Ⅱ) is the second of the two volumes into which the publisher has split the new edition of the intermediate Japanese textbook "Gateway to Advanced Japanese" (上級へのとびら, 2009). It covers lessons 9 to 15.

The topics, kanji and grammar of the previous edition are kept. The readings, dialogues and vocabulary have been updated, and each lesson sets its goals with a "Can-do" list. The book works on five skills: reading, listening, writing, conversation and oral presentation.

Recommended level: Intermediate (approx. JLPT N3–N2). The readings deal with society, culture and politics, with the corresponding vocabulary.

Useful features

• The model dialogue in the conversation practice is shown as a flow chart, with the function of each turn.
• The grammar and expression notes include common learner mistakes.
