Goi mappu de oboeru kanji to goi - Shokyu 1400 is a book for beginner-level students (JLPT4 or 5) who want to learn and practice vocabulary and kanji. This book uses a methodology called 'Word Maps': through this system, the vocabulary appears concentrated by themes and semantic fields. For example, the first unit of the book focuses on the family, so in this word map we will find words such as brother, grandmother, cousins, etc.
The book contains a total of 17 units with about 4 maps per lesson, each map contains about 180 words. The maps and words are translated into English, Chinese and Korean to facilitate the understanding of the texts. In addition, along with the maps, sentences are included to contextualize the most important terms.
Each unit also includes exercises in which the different words that have been learned must be used. This book proposes a study system in which the student must first look at the list of words in English to memorize them, then read them in hiragana and later try to read them in kanji.
This book covers the extensive vocabulary of levels 4 and 5 of the official JLPT exam. As this is a book for beginner-level students, all kanji contain furigana. At the end of the book, answers to the exercises and translations of all sentences and examples are included.
